Job Title: Environmental Health and Regulatory Services Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Health and Regulatory Services Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Health Officer or Regulatory Services Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing environmental health regulations, ensuring the safety of our residents and visitors, and supporting businesses in our district. You will work in a beautiful part of Scotland, with a diverse and interesting workload, and have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce environmental health regulations and legislation, including public health and food safety
- Conduct inspections and investigations, and take enforcement action as necessary
- Provide advice and guidance to businesses and members of the public on environmental health matters
- Manage your own district workload, including travel and work on our islands
- Develop and implement strategies to improve public health and protect the environment
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of environmental health legislation and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- A valid driving license and ability to travel
Salary and Benefits:
The salary for this role is £40,000 - £44,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including annual membership to the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) and opportunities for professional development and career progression.
