Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Haematology Consultant to lead our haemoglobinopathy, haematology, and oncology services. The successful candidate will work closely with consultant colleagues to provide clinical leadership and ensure the delivery of a first-class service to children attending the day unit. Key responsibilities include:
• Providing effective leadership to all staff engaged in the specialty
• Sustaining and developing teaching and research in conjunction with King's College London/King's Health Partners (KHP)
• Conducting clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and Trust procedures
• Maintaining confidence in business plans and development strategies formulated for the specialty, Care Group, or Trust
• Sharing responsibility of providing consultative haematology cover for attending paediatricians
• Providing clinical supervision of junior medical/dental practitioners
Key Responsibilities:
As a Paediatric Haematology Service Lead, you will be responsible for managing a team of professionals delivering care to children with haematological conditions. You will work collaboratively with other consultants to provide a comprehensive service, including joint leadership of the adolescent service and clinical leadership for the cytopaenia clinic. Additionally, you will participate in the paediatric haematology consultant of the week rota and conduct daily ward rounds for inpatients.
