About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mortgage Remediation Specialist to join our team at Target Group. As a key member of our dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our customers in finding the best possible solution to their financial difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate directly with borrowers to explain findings and/or discuss remediation options.
  • Process remediation payments and adjustments in loan servicing systems.
  • Undertake administrative tasks, including debtor tracing, returned mail, and workflow management.
  • Assess customers' income and expenditure, ensuring all options are considered and appropriately deployed based on the customer's circumstances and affordability.
  • Administer post-completion underwriting, making risk-based recommendations and referring to clients where applicable.
  • Negotiate quality payment arrangements, ensuring repayment terms are in accordance with company directives and mandates.
  • Prepare structured, detailed rationales in respect of consideration of legal/enforcement action.
  • Identify appropriate solutions for customers in financial difficulty, taking due consideration of their individual circumstances, and escalating cases where appropriate.
  • Assess customer accounts in accordance with pre-determined policies and procedures, ensuring forbearance has been utilized where appropriate.
  • Treat our customers fairly, ensuring they have a fair and compliant outcome.
Requirements
  • Working experience in a regulated mortgage industry.
  • Collections/recoveries processes.
  • History of managing customers facing hardship and proficient in forbearance treatments.
  • Proficient in, and familiar with, loan servicing/claim management databases and software.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively handle vulnerable customers.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Customer service or in a client-facing role.
  • Underwriting in a financial servicing environment.
Working Knowledge
  • All regulations governing secured and unsecured collections and payment card processing, including DPA, Anti-Money Laundering, Complaints, Principle 6 (Treating Customers Fairly), CCA CONC, MCOB Rules, and PCI DSS requirements.
