We are seeking a Corporate Governance Associate to join our team at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. This role is based in London and reports directly to the Deputy Company Secretary / Director. As a trusted partner for the long term, we want to help you find the next step in your career.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity involves assisting the EMEA Group Company Secretary, Deputy Company Secretaries, and wider team in all aspects of company secretarial services to the Boards, Board Committees, and senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess strong organisational abilities.

Responsibilities
  • Liaising with Executive Directors and Non-Executive Directors to arrange meetings and provide ad hoc support as requested.
  • Assisting in preparation of the Directors' Report and Strategic Review for inclusion in the annual report and accounts of relevant companies.
  • Submitting applications on the Anti-Bribery and Corruption Database and related databases to onboard suppliers and maintain and update contracts with existing suppliers.
Requirements
  • Excellent MS Office Suite skills.
  • Able to take and write minutes accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Cultural awareness and confidence in senior management engagement.
