Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at UK Power Networks. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our electrical infrastructure construction projects.

Job Purpose:

The primary purpose of this role is to provide competent quality management advice to promote compliance to ISO 9001:2015 in the review, audit, certification, induction, and management of procedures and processes in electrical infrastructure construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality management advice to other advisors, managers, employees, contractors, and clients, both in the tendering and construction phases.
  • Contribute to the review of existing and the development of new procedures and processes.
  • Monitor compliance with ISO 9001:2015, procedures, legal and moral obligations, and national, international, and client standards.
  • Plan project audits against agreed level 2, 3, and 4 schedules.
  • Assist and offer guidance to Project Managers in reviewing quality-related project documents and requirements.
  • Develop appropriate quality management system inductions, training, and communication materials for the project team and subcontractors.
  • Monitor site certification of materials and equipment, including tool calibration, to ensure compliance with client and project requirements.
  • Facilitate third-party audits of UK Power Networks Services by external certification bodies.
Requirements:
  • HNC (minimum requirement) qualification in a discipline such as Quality Management, Construction, Project Management, or Technical/Engineering or equivalent.
  • Practitioner member of the Chartered Quality Institute with an aspiration to gain Chartered status.
  • Quality management system experience gained in the construction industry.
  • Trained QMS Auditor/Internal QMS Auditor with experience in auditing to ISO 9001:2015.
  • Experience of root cause analysis.
  • Client access passes and licenses required to work within UK industries such as airports, defence, nuclear, rail, and underground rail.
  • Valid UK driving license.
Desirable:
  • Flexible in your approach to work and prioritise as directed by the Quality and Assurance Manager and Project Manager on assigned projects or contracts.
  • Audit to ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 requirements.
  • Knowledge of ISO 55001:2014, ISO 44001:2017, ISO 2018, ISO 2018, ISO 2020, and ISO 2020.
  • Team player with other staff and clients within the business.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, planning, and decision-making skills at all seniority levels.
  • Ability to work with IT software packages such as Microsoft Office.
