About the Role

The Occupational Therapist – Band 6 will carry out assessments for individuals with disabilities who wish to learn to drive a car, continue to drive after acquiring an illness, injury, or disability, or travel in a vehicle as a passenger. This includes assessing relevant equipment, working with Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) to evaluate learner drivers' abilities, and collaborating with driving assessors to review driving capabilities for current licence holders.

Responsibilities include evaluating driver safety, providing advice on vehicle transfers, and recommending general seating solutions. The successful candidate will also have experience working with neurological conditions, age-related changes, learning difficulties, and mental health issues.

As a key member of the team, the Occupational Therapist – Band 6 will work closely with colleagues to provide life-transforming services that enable people with disabilities to increase their independence and achieve their goals in life.
