Job Title: Community Support Specialist

Prospero Teaching is seeking a skilled Community Support Specialist to support children with SEMH in a school in Blackpool. The ideal candidate must be able to drive as they are required to work in both the school and local community.

To be successful in this role, you will be confident in liaising with social services, parents, and staff to best support the young people. Previous experience in behaviour management techniques is essential in order to manage the behaviour of the young people and help them to engage within the school setting.

All the young people that you will be working with will have an education and health care plan (EHCP) which you will be able to refer to.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with SEMH in a school in Blackpool
  • Liaise with social services, parents, and staff to best support the young people
  • Manage the behaviour of the young people and help them to engage within the school setting

What We Offer:

  • Location: Blackpool
  • Position: Community Support Specialist
  • School Hours: 8am-3pm
  • Type: Full-Time only
  • Minimum rate of pay: £100
  • Duration: Ongoing
  • Contract Type: Temporary

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as an Outreach Worker or in a similar role
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
  • Strong understanding of child development
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

Eligibility:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child-related references that cover the last two years
