Job Summary:

Armstrong Knight is seeking a highly skilled Tax Director to join our team. As a Tax Director, you will be responsible for providing expert tax advice to our clients, managing a portfolio of high net worth clients, and leading a team of tax professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of high net worth clients, providing expert tax advice and guidance on personal and corporate tax matters.
  • Lead a team of tax professionals, providing training and supervision to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize clients' tax liabilities and maximize their wealth.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring that clients are compliant and taking advantage of available tax savings opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as accounting and audit, to ensure seamless service delivery to clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored tax solutions.
  • Conduct tax research and analysis to identify opportunities for clients to reduce their tax liabilities.
  • Prepare and review tax returns, including personal and corporate tax returns, and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Communicate complex tax information to clients in a clear and concise manner, ensuring that they understand their tax obligations and opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Preferably ATT/CTA Part or Fully Qualified, however candidates with ACA/ACCA/STEP or QBE who have been working in tax long-term gaining the skills outlined for the role.
  • Preferably with a keen interest in trust/inheritance tax who want to develop their expertise in this area.
  • Strong literacy and numerical skills.
  • Strong base of experience in a mixed tax role, preferably with a minimum of 50% Corporate Tax practical knowledge.
  • Strong IT skills - Excel and ideally Iris.
  • A minimum of 3 years practice experience.
  • Good up-to-date technical knowledge including recent developments within the tax arena.
  • Strong communication skills - oral and written, ability to deal with variety of people in different environments.
  • Organised - ability to deal with a variety of tasks and managing a varied workload.
  • Client focused.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Adaptable to change.
  • Self-motivated.
