Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Strategic Business Development Director to join our National Business Development and Marketing team. As a key member of the team, you will support the management of our national Clients & Markets team, drive local business development activity, and focus on increasing profitability through lead generation and bid support.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders and decision-makers to drive business growth and maintain momentum.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with intermediaries, prospects, and partnerships to enhance our brand and target audience reach.
  • Lead generation through prospecting, targeting, and attending local and sector events for the regional market, focusing on Private Equity and Listed businesses.
  • Generate business opportunities with new and existing clients, attend local and national events, and follow up on opportunities.
  • Participate in the Client Care and Key Account programmes, preparing testimonials, case studies, and building credentials.
  • Manage the end-to-end bid process, including bid generation, slide-decks, placemats, rehearsal pitches, and pitch debriefs.
  • Manage a high-performing Clients & Markets team, providing day-to-day team management, annual appraisal reviews, and strategic leadership.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • A thorough understanding of professional services, service lines, offerings, and regulatory challenges and opportunities.
  • Professional services BD experience and knowledge of the accountancy profession.
  • Previous experience managing and mentoring a team, with excellent client relationship management skills.
  • Excellent experience in bid writing and bid management within a professional services environment.
  • Able to deliver high-quality work, identify areas for improvement, and forge strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong management skills, with the ability to own projects and delegate to junior team members.
  • A sound business understanding, commercial awareness, and risk management skills.
  • Creative, innovative, and proactive approach, with excellent project management, time management, attention to detail, and coordination skills.
About the Role
