Job Summary

We are seeking an apprentice design coordinator to support the design manager and project delivery team in managing complex construction projects through design phases. The ideal candidate will develop construction knowledge and experience to prepare innovative and cost-effective design solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing design solutions to client briefs with input from the professional design team and subcontractors.
  • Build relationships with clients, subcontractors, and professional design teams and resolve queries.
  • Identify and check contents for contractors' proposals, qualifications lists, design information, and marketing documentation.
  • Review designs on an ongoing basis and identify potential interface problems and practicalities in construction.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE grades A* - C (4-9) in Maths, English Language & Science – Essential or a Level 2 Apprenticeship.
  • Strong numeracy skills and the ability to learn sophisticated design/construction IT packages.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings with training.
  • Ability to write clear and precise reports and relate complex information simply to a diverse range of people.

Estimated Salary Range: £22,500 - £25,000 depending on location and experience.
