Debt Management Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Debt Management Specialist to join our client based in the local area. As the first point of contact for all enquiries relating to areas and debt management, you will engage with each customer, using your listening skills to build a rapport and understand each element of their case.

The focus of this role is to deliver a good customer outcome, ensuring that customers are supported in managing their debt. You will work closely with customers to create mutually acceptable and sustainable payment arrangements based on their ability to pay.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contact customers who are in arrears to collect overdue payments.
  2. Complete affordability assessments with customers over the phone.
  3. Create payment plans that meet the customer's needs.
  4. Identify and manage any potential vulnerability effectively.
  5. Liaise with third parties such as debt charities and money advice centres.
  6. Manage payment arrangements, including due dates and changes to payment methods.
  7. Resolve first-level customer complaints.
The Ideal Candidate:
  1. Previous experience in arrears, collections, and debt management.
  2. A friendly, compassionate, and professional communicator.
  3. IT proficient.
  4. Keen to work as part of a team.
  5. Able to self-motivate to meet company-wide expectations and targets.
