We are seeking a highly skilled National Head Chef to join our team at Retirement Villages Group. This senior role will be responsible for leading our food and beverage operations, ensuring high-quality delivery of services across our retirement villages.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in F&B operations, preferably in independent restaurants, hotels, or chain offerings. They will be able to work effectively in a regional role, travelling to all our villages to provide support and guidance to village management and on-site culinary and front-of-house teams.

You will be responsible for implementing and upholding RVG operational standards across existing and new sites, supporting product development and menu evolution, and driving operational efficiency and cost control. You will also be required to ensure compliance with SOPs, foster collaboration across F&B teams, and support procurement and supplier management.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing RVG operational standards to ensure high-quality delivery of services across our retirement villages
  • Supporting the ongoing development and refinement of food concepts and menus through collaboration with the Head of F&B and operational teams
  • Assisting in supporting the creation and operational delivery of a viable F&B events schedule that drives engagement
  • Ensuring F&B Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are up to date and well communicated, and that all F&B operations are run in strict accordance with them, resulting in compliance across all sites
  • Supporting the delivery of a commercially sound and cost-effective operation by focusing on operational efficiencies, strict cost control, and maximising revenue opportunities
  • Fostering collaboration across F&B teams by facilitating the sharing of best practices
  • Supporting the utilisation of F&B national and local supply chain through EFoODS supplier account as well as supporting the roll-out and implementation of a waste reduction program across our villages
  • Supporting operational compliance with Food Safety through kitchen audits – utilising Safety Culture for reporting and delivery

Estimated salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum. Benefits include private medical insurance, bank holidays off, full sick pay after 6 months, medicash, birthday leave, pension scheme, and life assurance.
