About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Learning Disability Nurse to join our Community Children's Learning Disability Health Service team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people with learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an allocated caseload of children and young people with learning disabilities, providing specialist health advice and interventions as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of multi-agency professionals to support children and young people, including pre-schools, children's centres, schools, and short break settings.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based nursing care plans, ensuring access to healthcare and promoting independence and choice for children and young people.
  • Provide training and support to develop other services to enhance the health needs of children and young people with learning disabilities.
  • Maintain accurate records and timely interventions for a caseload of children, ensuring compliance with local safeguarding policies.
Requirements
  • Registered Learning Disability Nurse with a strong background in community health and care services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and their families.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and support.
  • Knowledge of local safeguarding policies and procedures, with the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure timely interventions.
