Relais & Châteaux at Thornbury Castle is seeking a talented Demi Chef De Partie to enhance our culinary team. You will be working in a unique and beautifully restored Castle, offering a truly regal dining experience.

About Us

Thornbury Castle Hotel, set on 15 acres of stunning land, is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England. Our multi-million pound refurbishment program has brought back to life the grandeur of its past. Located 20 minutes' drive from Bristol, we offer 26 rooms and suites, an award-winning restaurant, bar, and two unique meeting and conference spaces. Our food style is modern British, using the best locally sourced produce from our kitchen garden and around the southwest. We operate 7 days a week, serving breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner, and Sunday lunch, as well as occasional weddings and functions.

Our company goal is to deliver exceptional, personalized hospitality, making our hotel a haven where guests can relax, enjoy themselves, and escape the ordinary. To feel like royalty in a unique place with unique people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full-time permanent position, 48 hours per week
  • Salary £27,700 per annum
  • Overtime paid
  • An additional share of service charge and tips (paid every 2 months, approximately £3,500 annually)
  • 28 days' holiday, including bank holidays
  • A talented Chef with a professional approach, great passion, and flair for the industry and food
  • Ideal candidate: a strong commis chef seeking to progress and be part of an exciting project
  • Experience in a 3 AA Rosettes within a similar role
  • Responsible for preparation and service in a particular section, supporting the team and helping colleagues
  • Bringing a calm, mature approach with a resilient nature that thrives under pressure
  • Natural ability as a Chef with outstanding attention to detail
  • Dedicated, excellent team player with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative, with ambition to succeed at the highest levels
  • Strictly follow all food safety and health & safety procedures
