Commercial Counsel Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading Algorithmic Trading Firm to find a Commercial Counsel to join their growing Legal function. This role will involve leading on commercial agreements and contracts for their expanding business.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house counsel, preferably with exposure to Financial Services/Financial Services Clients.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the legal team and businesses directly, including traders, business development, product, and operations teams. You will also work on projects with senior leadership, such as the COO and CEO, and have the chance to shape templates and approaches that balance business growth objectives and risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead legal-commercial negotiations, drafting and negotiating agreements for various business lines.
  • Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to monitor the legal and regulatory landscapes across different jurisdictions.
  • Become involved in other legal projects, including commercial disputes, employment, and corporate projects.

Requirements:

  • Circa 2-5 years of experience practicing law (qualified) at a top-tier law firm or as in-house counsel.
  • Financial Services, Fintech, or Crypto exposure is advantageous.
  • Strong grasp of commercial law, with a focus on financial services.
  • Ability to see the bigger picture and commercial strategy.
