Safety Specialist for Social Care

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Specialist for Social Care to join our team at Leeds City Council. As a key member of our health and safety team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our social care services are delivered safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, with a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent. You will be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and be able to advise operational managers and teams on a day-to-day basis.
This is a permanent position, and we offer a competitive salary of £39,000-£44,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a generous annual leave entitlement, you will also receive membership of the West Yorkshire Pension Fund with employer contributions.
As a Safety Specialist for Social Care, you will be responsible for assisting the Senior Leadership Team in meeting compliance with all statutory and legislative health and safety requirements in social care services. This will involve working closely with operational teams to ensure that all sites, works, and offices are managed consistently and in an appropriate manner in relation to health, safety, and wellbeing.
You will also be required to compile regular summaries, analysis, and reports of records and performance information, as well as undertake internal monitoring of procedural compliance and carry out workplace inspections.
