Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Reception Supervisor to join our Communities Team at City, University of London Students' Union. This is a student-facing role that requires excellent customer service and administrative skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Welcome Desk (Reception) to deliver a visible and reliable service to students.
  • Provide excellent customer service and oversee the management of all staff who work on the reception, including student staff and line managing the Student Communities Administrator.
  • Support the delivery of our popular Northampton Square retail offer, including overseeing daily operations, organising shop displays, selling items, and coordinating our click and collect offer.
  • Assist the Communities Team with administrative tasks to create a thriving community where every student feels they belong.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An excellent working knowledge of customer service and administration.
  • Experience in overseeing a customer service function.
  • A strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, as well as sustainability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This role requires working on site 5 days a week to ensure an excellent service for students. During term time, the primary shift patterns are 8.00am – 4.00pm and 11.00am – 7.00pm.
