Behaviour Support Mentor Role

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to join our team at a dynamic secondary school in Sunderland. As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social emotional behaviour difficulties, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to manage and support pupils with challenging behaviour.
  • Establish and maintain a 1:1 mentoring relationship with identified students, drawing up agreed action plans to outline the aims of the mentoring.
  • Collaborate with teachers, Heads of House, and support staff to promote the effective use of behaviour management strategies.
  • Work closely with parents to ensure a consistent approach to supporting students with behaviour difficulties.
  • Contribute to the development of a supportive and inclusive school environment, promoting positive relationships and behaviour among students.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with social emotional behaviour difficulties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment.
