About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Young Person Support Worker to join our team at Protective Care Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing tailored support to young people who display challenging behaviour as a result of trauma.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Empathetic Support: Offer day-to-day support to our young people, helping them navigate their daily lives and prepare for life beyond the age of 18.
  • Coach and Mentor: Develop essential life skills with our young people, empowering them to reach their full potential.
  • Manage Challenging Behaviours: Support our young people with acceptance and resilience, helping them to manage difficult emotions and behaviours.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and reports in compliance with regulations, ensuring the highest standards of care.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with key stakeholders in the young person's life, including family members, social workers, and other professionals.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: A Level 3 qualification in Child and Residential care (or a suitable alternative) is essential for this role.
  • Understanding of Trauma: Possess a deep understanding of trauma and its effects on behaviour, enabling you to provide effective support to our young people.
  • Calm and Non-Judgmental Approach: Remain calm and non-judgmental when working with behaviours and needs such as absconding, self-harm, sexualised behaviour, attachment disorder, trauma, and criminalisation.
  • Safeguarding Knowledge: Have a thorough knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of our young people.
  • Right to Work: Hold full right to work in the UK and possess a valid UK manual driving license.
