About the Role

The OSB Group is seeking a skilled Mortgage Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our Underwriting department, you will be responsible for assessing the risk of lending and protecting the Bank against potential losses.

About the Team

Our Underwriting team takes a common sense approach to manual underwriting, using strong market knowledge and a diagnostic approach to give dependable decisions. We are a collaborative and engaging environment, dedicated to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and progress mortgage applications to Completion, within the assigned mandate level.
  • Review and respond to all post-offer correspondence for long-term lending applications.
  • Work with the Completions team to ensure completion dates are met.
  • Deliver a high-quality service to brokers, solicitors, and customers.
  • Proactively deal with Solicitors, liaising with Legal & Compliance to ensure our interests are protected.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of regulations for Commercial/Semi Comm/BTL mortgages.
  • Previous experience in a mortgage administration or underwriting in Financial Services.
  • Previous experience conducting solicitor audits and KPI management.
  • Previous experience supervising and training staff.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
