About the Role

The OSB Group is seeking a skilled Underwriting & Completions Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our Underwriting department, you will play a crucial role in assessing the risk of lending and protecting the Bank against potential losses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and progress mortgage applications to Completion, within the assigned mandate level, in line with the Bank's operating procedures and policies.
  • Review and respond to all post-offer correspondence for long-term lending applications, ensuring timely completion and adherence to lending policy.
  • Work collaboratively with the Completions team to ensure completion dates are met.
  • Provide high-quality service to brokers, solicitors, and customers, controlling the release of completion funds and ensuring customer funds reach solicitors in time for completion.
  • Liaise with Solicitors and Legal & Compliance to protect the Bank's interests.
  • Communicate with intermediaries on declined cases, handle objections, and provide objective feedback.
  • Manage escalations and resolve technical queries from other team members.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of regulations for Commercial/Semi Comm/BTL mortgages.
  • Previous experience in mortgage administration or underwriting in Financial Services.
  • Previous experience conducting solicitor audits and KPI management.
  • Previous experience supervising & training staff.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel in particular).
