About the Role

The Deputy Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our workforce within the South East Coast Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust.

As a senior member of HR and OD, the post holder will be required to take the strategic lead on the development of key HR and OD functions, systems and policies enabling the Trust's corporate aims and objectives to be achieved taking due account of national priorities and requirements NHS People Plan.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Executive Director of HR&OD in developing remuneration and reward strategies in line with NHS policy, which support the operational and financial priorities of the Trust
  • Supporting the Head of Well-Being and Inclusion and Inclusion Manager with delivery of the Trust's equality and inclusion strategy; ensuring that best practice is applied across the workforce agenda
  • Providing a strategic HR perspective regarding business development and planning to the organisation, ensuring that national and local NHS policy, initiatives and changes to terms and conditions are implemented appropriately

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Member of CIPD or equivalent
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of strong and recent commitment to continued development

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Demonstrable and credible experience in a senior management role, involving successful management of a diverse HR&OD team within a complex organisation
  • Experience of leading the development of HR&OD strategies to support service and workforce transformation
  • Extensive in-depth demonstrable success in delivering change and performance with and through management teams, by engaging them in the strategic direction and delivery plans, establishing clear work priorities with them, delegating effectively, ensuring a capability to deliver, monitoring performance and giving feedback
