Role Overview

Long-term Teachers Ltd is seeking a dedicated Support Assistant to join our team. As a Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and development of children and young people (CYP) in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safeguarding of all CYP by adhering to safeguarding policies and reporting any concerns.
  • Provide simple medical aid and personal care as needed.
  • Supervise and support CYP during mealtimes and other activities.
  • Assist in the delivery of educational and developmental activities.
  • Work with teachers and teaching assistants to observe, monitor, and report on the progress of CYP.
  • Prepare resources and help organize the learning environment.
  • Record evidence of learner progress and achievements.
  • Undertake additional duties as directed by the teaching or senior leadership team.

About You

  • You must be able to perform the job as described.
  • Basic literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills are required.
  • A positive attitude towards training and continuous professional development is essential.
  • Experience working in a team and following instructions is necessary.
  • You should be able to use initiative and work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and experience working with CYP, particularly those with SEND, are required.
