Purpose and Scope:

The purpose of this role is to provide creative social and emotional mental health support to children and young people aged 8-19 years old. This involves working with individuals who have experienced adversity, marginalization, or are struggling to regulate their emotions. The core objective is to help young people form healthier connections across various aspects of well-being, including physical health, mental health, social and communicational skills, and environmental awareness.

Responsibilities and Duties:

This role involves delivering a 24-week SEMH program that covers aspirations, personal development, and citizenship. The program aims to support young people in remaining in education, promoting positive and healthy choices, and reducing risks associated with anti-social behavior, social isolation, and family breakdown. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating youth work, mentoring, advice, or guidance, and will work closely with an external qualified counsellor for supervision and support.

Requirements and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a recognized qualification in Youth Work or an equivalent level 3+ qualification in Advice and Guidance, or a minimum of 3 years' experience working with disengaged young people. Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as presentation skills, are essential. The candidate should also have experience in delivering youth initiatives focusing on good relations, citizenship, and personal development, and be familiar with Microsoft Word, Dropbox, and Zoom. A current, clean driving license and access to a vehicle are also required.

Benefits and Support:

The successful candidate will receive monthly supervision with a qualified counsellor, monthly case tracking, and all necessary training. A £300.00 bonus scheme is also available for services that continue with Altum HR.
