Job Description

Job Title: Pastoral Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastoral Manager to join our team at U-Educate. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the senior leadership team in managing student behaviour and providing high-quality pastoral care to students in secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support student behaviour in KS3 and KS4, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Act as a role model for students and staff, demonstrating high-quality pastoral care and support.
  • Work in an 'on-call' capacity, ensuring students are in their lessons and providing support to classroom teachers as needed.
  • Remove students from lessons into the internal isolation unit, as required.
  • Develop and implement behaviour management strategies, working closely with teachers and other support staff.
  • Contribute to school-wide knowledge and skills in behaviour management, sharing best practices and expertise.
  • Collaborate with the senior leadership team to develop and implement policies and procedures related to student behaviour and pastoral care.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with KS3 and KS4 students, with a strong understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other stakeholders.
  • High-level judgment, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check to work with children.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding Training, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of child protection and welfare.
