About the Role

Cardiff University is seeking a highly professional and efficient reception/administration staff member to provide exceptional customer service in our multiple buildings. This role requires a friendly and approachable individual who can effectively communicate with students, external customers, and visitors.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality reception service, including face-to-face, telephone, and email interactions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building facilities, locations, contacts, and services to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Deal with routine enquiries, log information, and refer complex matters to relevant staff members.
  • Process and distribute mail, ensure the reception area is well-presented, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist with conference and event administration, fire safety, and security issues.
  • Carry out administrative tasks, establish relationships with key contacts, and contribute to team objectives.

Key Requirements

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • High standard of organisational and general administrative skills.
  • Ability to identify problems, determine solutions, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Experience of providing customer service in a corporate/hospitality environment.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise, and organise workload within established timescales.
