Job Title: Directorate Manager - General Internal Medicine

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Directorate Manager to lead the General Internal Medicine Directorate. The successful candidate will provide operational management leadership, working in partnership with the Clinical Director and Matron, to ensure the Directorate meets its quality, activity, and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide operational management leadership for the Directorate, ensuring effective management of resources and delivery of key performance targets.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Director, Director of Operations, and Matron to develop and implement strategies for service improvement and transformation.
  • Lead the development and implementation of business cases and proposals for service redesign and change management initiatives.
  • Manage and develop a team of non-clinical and nursing staff, ensuring effective recruitment, induction, training, and development.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust policies and procedures, including those related to quality, safety, and patient care.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience at a senior management level in an acute setting, with a track record of pro-active management and achievement of key performance targets.
  • Demonstrable experience of service redesign, business planning, and change management initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and information, and make informed decisions to drive service improvement.
  • Knowledge of national and local strategies related to cancer and patient care, and the ability to develop and implement local services.
