We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Support Worker Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality support to families and ensuring their safety and well-being.
Salary and Benefits
The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £29,000, plus overtime if required, along with a range of benefits including opportunities for professional development and a supportive work environment.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Education or equivalent, as well as at least three years of experience working with families and children, including child protection cases. You will possess strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and complex information.
You will be responsible for managing a defined caseload of families, providing support and guidance throughout the assessment process, and ensuring the safe and efficient running of the residential facility. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in delivering the Centre's objectives and maintaining compliance with National Minimum Standards.
- Overseeing the management of a caseload, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Completing weekly summary reports for assigned families and direct staff on key work sessions.
- Liaising with Local Authorities, Guardians, and Independent Social Workers to develop and implement assessment plans.
- Managing the physical, financial, and human resources of the facility effectively, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Participating in the on-call rota, always supporting the smooth operation of the Centre.

Qualifications and Experience
Minimum requirements include:
- NVQ Level 3 in Childcare & Education or equivalent.
- At least three years of experience working with families and children, including child protection cases.
Experience in residential settings and supervising staff is highly desirable. Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act and Residential Family Centres National Minimum Standards, is also essential.
