Business Manager for Vocational Programmes

At Richmond upon Thames College, we are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Section Manager in the Business School.
Our Business School, based at our Richmond Campus, offers a range of vocational and professional programmes from Level 1 to Level 5, a strong apprenticeship programme and professional certificates such as AAT and LIBF. Working in collaboration with local and national employers, we successfully prepare learners for a wide range of careers and/or higher education, meeting the latest industry standards. Employer needs are central to our curriculum provision, and we are committed to equipping our students with the skills and techniques to navigate the digital landscape of the future.
As a Section Manager, you will be joining a friendly and supportive team with a range of industry experience, committed to the success of our learners. With many training and development opportunities and scope for promotion within the College, you will be embarking on a varied and rewarding career. Courses offered by the Business School include AAT, Banking and Finance at levels 2, 3 and 4, as well as some vocational business programmes, from Level 1 to 3. The majority of courses offered are BTECs.
Richmond upon Thames College is part of the Harrow, Richmond and Uxbridge College Group and is one of London's most successful Further Education Colleges providing education and training to 16-19 year old's and adults from across Richmond, London and Surrey, for over 80 years. We have opened a new building in 2020 and a brand-new technology-focussed STEM Centre in 2024. This exciting and innovative new learning environment is located within the grounds of the current college site, so remains convenient for public transport links – it is adjacent to the A316 and just a short walk from Twickenham rail station and a number of regular London bus routes.
Compensation and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this role is £25,000- £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will also receive a range of benefits, including access to training and development opportunities, a comprehensive pension scheme, and a range of employee benefits.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in business management, with experience of leading teams and managing budgets. You will also need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with learners, staff and external partners. A relevant qualification in business or a related field would be advantageous, but is not essential.
