We are seeking an exceptional Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Principal Clinical Psychologist within the Adult Acute Inpatient Service and High Dependency Rehabilitation Service.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the psychology service, working closely with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, locality leadership team(s), and speciality clinical network to enhance and evaluate the psychological care offer provided by a multi-professional workforce.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical and professional leadership, providing highly specialist psychological assessment and intervention, and input to care and treatment planning and discharge planning for individual patients.

The post involves working across two acute adult inpatient wards, a PICU (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit), and a high dependency rehabilitation ward, as part of a multidisciplinary team. The team is established within Rehab services and is developing into acute care, offering opportunities for adapting the nature of the work to suit the interests and skills of the successful applicant.

The Principal Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for developing and maintaining a systematic, high-quality, evidence-based psychology service for patients accessing the First Response Service and the Rehabilitation Service in the locality. The role will also involve providing training, consultancy, supervision, and support to multi-professional staff, teams, and managers.

The successful candidate will be a highly specialist Clinical Psychologist with post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology and HCPC registration. They will have a track record of providing consultation, training, support, and supervision to other professionals and non-professionals, as well as experience of working in multidisciplinary teams and service development.
