This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a Kennedy Trust for Rheumatology Research (KTRR) funded project focused on understanding the biophysical determinants of cell fate decisions in skin inflammatory diseases. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work closely with Dr. Adrien Hallou and other researchers to investigate skin inflammatory diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis at single-cell resolution using spatial mechano-transcriptomics.

Responsibilities

">

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for managing an interdisciplinary research program and associated administrative activities. Key responsibilities include contributing scientific ideas for new research projects, representing the research group at external meetings/seminars, advising other group members on scientific protocols and experimental techniques, providing supervision, training, and mentorship to technical staff and research students, and ensuring compliance with university and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, applicants must hold a PhD (or near completion) in a relevant field with extensive research experience and specialist knowledge of experimental skin biology/biophysics and/or adult epithelial stem cell biology/biophysics. Experience with single-cell and spatial omics experiments and/or data analysis is essential. Ability to obtain a Home Office Personal license is also required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in soft tissue sample collection, preparation, and imaging techniques such as histology, immunofluorescence, confocal and live fluorescence microscopy, and tissue explant/organoid cultures.

Remuneration

The position offers a competitive salary of £39,000-£46,000 per annum, depending on experience, and excellent benefits including health insurance, pension scheme, and professional development opportunities.
