Senior Public Transport Specialist

This role is for a Senior Public Transport Specialist at the Transport Strategy Centre (TSC) at Imperial College London. The TSC is a globally recognised applied research group, focused on public transport, aviation, and asset management. The post will provide senior support for Associate Directors in the management and leadership of benchmarking consortia, including bus, paratransit, and light rail benchmarking groups.

The post will be responsible for technical leadership and management of key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis and reporting findings to senior industry clients as well as more general project management and client liaison.

The post holder is required to be an established expert in public transport, benchmarking, and related data management. Some key criteria for the post are:

  • Experience within the public transport industry (including consultancies, transport operators, authorities, or government institutions).
  • Experience with the development and maintenance of interactive data tools in Excel and Tableau.
  • An understanding of benchmarking and/or performance metrics in public transport operations, management and engineering.
  • Knowledge of the bus and paratransit industry in the UK and worldwide in areas such as regulations, operations, safety, and technology.
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations, including to senior managers.
