Education and Practice Development Lead

We are seeking an experienced nurse to lead the development of Learning and Development plans and strategies across Community Health Services.

  • Oversee the delivery of annual training and development plans, offering a range of learning techniques and development opportunities.
  • Support the creation of a diverse and inclusive workforce, ensuring education, learning, and development are accessible to all.
  • Develop partnerships with local universities and colleges to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Deliver learning and development activities, including training sessions and workshops.
  • Line manage the Clinical Education Team members.

This is a full-time position.

Main Duties of the Job

Support talent management and succession planning to ensure effective staff development and long-term business continuity.

In conjunction with Matrons and Sister/Charge Nurses, take the lead responsibility for education/training elements of performance management and workforce planning.

Facilitate a structure and mechanism for clinical supervision and act as a clinical supervisor.

Lead and implement CHS and Trust education and training strategies.

In conjunction with senior colleagues, lead clinical practice initiatives, staff education, and professional development.

In conjunction with senior colleagues, lead policy development, supporting change, innovation, and new ways of working.

Work in partnership with clinical colleagues to identify relevant education and training needs through the KSF and PDP processes.

Work collaboratively with local Universities/Higher Education Institutions and other training providers to ensure the delivery of high standards of both pre and post-registration education and training.

Work clinically alongside registered and non-registered staff, promoting and delivering education, practice, and the implementation of policies to ensure a workforce fit for purpose and practice.
