Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Apprenticeship Coach to join our team at Darlington College. In this rewarding role, you will support and coach apprentices in achieving their apprenticeship standard, ensuring they meet occupational standards and are prepared for End Point Assessment.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Act as an apprentice coach with a caseload of approximately 30-45 apprentices, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals.
  2. Create high-quality initial training plans with apprentices and employers, including thorough assessments and detailed delivery plans.
  3. Conduct regular workplace reviews with apprentices and employers, covering target setting, progress tracking, and safeguarding responsibilities.
  4. Attend departmental tracking meetings to report accurately on areas of responsibility and ensure timely catch-up for falling behind apprentices.
  5. Collaborate with the Business Development team to assess new employers and ensure they meet evidence requirements.
  6. Maintain accurate records of health and safety and employer liability insurance documents for companies within your caseload.
  7. Provide support to prepare portfolios of evidence required for gateway requirements and contribute to continuous improvement of quality in all apprenticeship activities.
  8. Participate in standardisation meetings and IQA/EQA activities, promoting excellence in apprenticeship delivery.

Requirements:

  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with experience in supporting apprentices in achieving their goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with apprentices, employers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reports, meeting college audit standards.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards, assessment methods, and end-point assessment processes.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
