Role Overview

WWF-UK is seeking a dedicated Climate and Energy Policy Manager to join our policy and advocacy team in Scotland.

In this role, you will spearhead the formulation and promotion of innovative solutions and policy frameworks aimed at enhancing Scotland's approach to climate change. Your efforts will be crucial in ensuring that Scotland achieves its emissions reduction targets equitably. This will entail building a robust evidence base concerning climate and energy policies, which includes overseeing research contracts and preparing informative briefings and materials. Additionally, you will provide expert analysis of pertinent Scottish governmental policies and legislative developments, advocating for evidence-driven policies to influential decision-makers.

Key Qualifications
  • Significant experience in climate and energy policy development, particularly in areas such as Scottish and UK Government climate legislation, low carbon heating, and energy efficiency.
  • A proven history of effectively advocating for policy changes to decision-makers, preferably within Scotland.
  • Experience collaborating with NGOs, businesses, and other organizations to drive change.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the UK and Scottish climate and energy political landscape, including relevant institutions and stakeholders.
  • A track record of managing projects from conception to completion, including delivering or commissioning research and overseeing budgets.
  • A strategic mindset capable of formulating and executing a long-term theory of change to influence policy.
  • Exceptional team player with strong networking abilities and interpersonal skills.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is [salary]. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
  • Starting annual leave of 26 days, increasing by one day each year up to a maximum of 30 days, in addition to bank holidays.
