We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Support Worker to join our team at the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. As a Specialist Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with profound and complex learning disabilities and Autism to live a full and active life based on their individual plans, wishes, and aspirations.
Key responsibilities
- To provide person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities and Autism, promoting their independence, dignity, and well-being.
- To develop and implement personalized care plans, ensuring that the needs of each individual are met in a safe and supportive environment.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and other professionals to ensure that the care and support needs of individuals are met.
- To administer medication in line with policy and procedures, and to support individuals with personal care needs.
- To participate in the review process, ensuring that outcomes are followed through and all necessary paperwork is complete.
About you
We are looking for a Specialist Support Worker who can demonstrate compassion, empathy, and a commitment to providing high-quality care and support. You will have a strong understanding of learning disabilities and Autism, and be able to work effectively with individuals who may present with challenging behaviour.
