About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sustainability Team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, whilst completing the Level 3 Junior Energy Manager Apprenticeship. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic team of energy and sustainability professionals within the Estates and Facilities Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data collection, analysis, and reporting; presenting data in a clear and attractive format, for example, monthly energy performance reports.
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of plans to improve the carbon footprint of the Trust.
  • Complete internal energy audits, surveys, and checks energy monitoring.
  • Assist in reviewing policies and practices in light of new or changing regulation, best practice, and Trust policy.
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of awareness days, behavior change campaigns, and presentations to staff about best practice.

About the Team

The Sustainability Team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to reduce the Trust's carbon footprint and improve its sustainability. The team works closely with other departments to identify opportunities for energy efficiency and to develop and implement plans to reduce energy consumption.

Person Specification

  • Qualified to at least A-Level (x2) or equivalent.
  • With a minimum of 3 GCSEs at grades A* to C (including Mathematics & English).
  • Mathematics or Science-based A-Level.
  • Level 3 Junior Energy Manager apprenticeship.
  • Experience of project management and administration.
  • Experience of communicating with a variety of audiences.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, 'green' issues and their importance within a work environment.
  • Excellent communication and persuasive skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and personable.
  • Creative and innovative thinker and problem-solver that can formulate ideas and appropriately execute them.
  • Developed interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable organisational skills including prioritisation and time management.
  • Ability to use MS Outlook for emails and Internet access using Internet Explorer. ICT literacy in all Office applications but especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Initiative and drive to achieve results. Demonstrable commitment and motivation to complete the project and deliver the projects aims.
  • Ability to work and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.
