About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Berrywood Hospital in Northampton. As a Domestic Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in patient, public, and staff areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality domestic service, adhering to legislative and policy requirements.
  • Follow cleaning specifications and use appropriate equipment and materials.
  • Work closely with other staff to ensure a safe and pleasant environment.
  • Carry out floor maintenance, mopping, and displaying 'wet floor' warning cones.
  • Remove waste and clinical waste bags, following correct procedures.
  • Use chemicals and cleaning agents safely, adhering to manufacturer's instructions and COSHH regulations.
  • Maintain machinery and equipment in a safe manner.
  • Undertake deep cleans, clinical cleans, and infection control procedures as required.
  • Observe the colour-coded cleaning system and wear protective clothing and uniform.
  • Complete Trust mandatory training and attend meetings and appraisal sessions.
