About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust. As a Domestic Support Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our patient, public, and staff areas.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing a high-quality domestic service that supports patient care and adheres to legislative and policy requirements.
  • Following cleaning specifications and using appropriate equipment and materials.
  • Working closely with other staff to ensure a safe and pleasant environment.
  • Carrying out floor maintenance, mopping, and displaying 'wet floor' warning cones, as well as shampooing carpets and corridor mats on a systematic basis.
  • Removing waste and clinical waste bags, ensuring correct procedures are followed.
  • Using chemicals and cleaning agents in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and adhering to COSHH regulations.
  • Maintaining machinery in a safe manner, as per instructions and training.
  • Undertaking deep cleans, clinical cleans, admission, and infection cleans as required by infection control procedures.
  • Observing the colour-coded cleaning system used within the wards, health centres, and departments.
  • Wearing protective clothing and uniform supplied by the Trust, maintaining a neat and tidy appearance, and high standards of personal hygiene.
  • Completing Trust mandatory training in a timely manner and attending meetings, one-to-ones, and appraisal meetings.
