Senior Ward Sister Role at Pilgrims Hospices

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Senior Ward Sister at Pilgrims Hospices in East Kent.

The successful candidate will have excellent leadership skills and be able to manage a team of nurses to deliver high-quality patient care.

The estimated salary for this position is £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced nurse to take on a leadership role and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care in a specialist palliative care setting.

The post holder will be responsible for leading a nursing team and promoting a culture of excellence in clinical care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Clinical Leadership: Ensure that the planning, implementation and evaluation of total care of the patient and family is individualised, evidence-based and of the highest standard and quality.
  2. Performance Management: Demonstrate effective leadership skills and provide regular team meetings, supervision of staff, and ensuring annual appraisals & PDPs for the nursing team are completed within the time required.
  3. Risk Management: Lead on the identification of risks which may impact upon patients and the delivery of a high quality clinical service.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a proven track record of leadership experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work across all shift patterns.
