Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a PL Inclusion Coach in Active Herefordshire & Worcestershire. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering coaching sessions, promoting participation in PL Kicks activities, and working with key charitable partners to supervise and mentor young people and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality coaching sessions across various provisions, including Kicks, Female Kicks, and Women/Girls programmes.
  • Liaise with line managers to discuss session success, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance participant experience.
  • Work collaboratively with key charitable partners to deliver practical delivery, supervise, and mentor young people and volunteers.
  • Promote participation in PL Kicks activities, targeting vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in the community and schools.
  • Develop an understanding of the highly regarded PL Kicks Brand and deliver coaching sessions that meet and exceed participant expectations.
  • Deal effectively with challenging behavior, following correct reporting and referral procedures.
  • Design and deliver inclusive programmes of diversionary activities and educational workshops for young people with diverse needs.
  • Identify and attend relevant continuous professional development courses to enhance coaching skills and knowledge.
  • Stay up-to-date with The FA's Disability Pathway and local County FA provisions.
  • Highlight and signpost participants into agreed exit routes across appropriate provisions.
  • Lead the promotion of services and products available to the general public.
  • Assist with school-based project bookings, write reports, and coordinate monitoring and evaluation systems.
  • Work in accordance with Reading FC Community Trust policies and procedures.
  • Uphold the Trust's GDPR and Data Protection policies.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to a strict code of conduct respecting information related to Reading Football Club.
  • Ensure DBS clearance remains current and all training requirements for the role are met.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a passion for developing participants of all academic and playing abilities.
  • The ability to deliver dynamic and engaging coaching sessions that inspire young people and facilitate rapid progress.
  • Clear understanding of safeguarding principles and procedures around diversity groups to ensure safe inclusion and address issues faced by young people in targeted areas.
  • Excellent communication skills to build effective relationships with staff, participants, and partners.
  • Able to demonstrate hard work and high standards, providing evidence of continuous improvement and team performance.
  • A current driving license and willingness to commit to significant evening and weekend hours.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance and First Aid in Sport qualification required prior to commencing the role.

Salary Estimate: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
