We are looking for an Inventory Optimization Expert to join our UK Data Team at Gopuff. This role offers the opportunity to drive business growth through advanced analytics and data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with our 'In-Stock Development Lead Data Analyst' to optimize stock ordering and inventory management processes, ensuring exceptional customer experience and profitability.

About the Role

As an Inventory Optimization Expert, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Stock Ordering Tool, a critical component of our operations. This involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve compliance and optimize buying policies. Your expertise will be essential in identifying areas for improvement and proposing new strategies to enhance inventory management and stock ordering efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Category and In-Stock Management teams to develop and maintain the Stock Ordering Tool.
  • Work closely with the wider Data Team and Community to measure and report on availability levels and their impact on revenue and order volume.
  • Provide detailed analysis and recommendations on buying policy changes and their impact on stock ordering.
  • Design and implement experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of different buying policies.
  • Monitor and analyze metrics to identify areas for improvement and propose new strategies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, preferably in industries such as grocery, operations, marketing, or consumer products.
  • Strong expertise in SQL and database management, with the ability to efficiently query large datasets.
  • Knowledge of dbt, Python, or R programming languages is highly beneficial.
  • Experience with BI platforms like Looker, Tableau, or Power BI is also desirable.
  • Excellent understanding of statistical analysis, experiment design, and data visualization techniques.
