About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Abmrenovation. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in the product development lifecycle, focusing on the design and optimization of cutting-edge mechanical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Mechanical Design: Lead the design and development of electro-mechanical connectors and systems, utilizing Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling, assembly design, and detailed drawings. Incorporate innovative solutions to meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
  2. MathCAD Analysis: Perform engineering calculations and analysis using MathCAD to ensure the structural integrity, thermal performance, and reliability of electro-mechanical connectors and systems.
  3. Technical Leadership: Assume full responsibility for live and R&D design packages, including overseeing associated draftspeople. Check and approve design packages, troubleshoot manufacturing/testing issues, and produce training material for engineering teams.
  4. Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of mechanical designs to ensure they meet industry standards, compliance requirements, and internal quality benchmarks. Establish and enforce quality control measures within the design process.
  5. Project Management: Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality mechanical designs. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the mechanical design team.
Requirements
  1. Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  2. Post-graduate degree and Chartered Status are desirable.
  3. Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and MathCAD.
  4. Competence in FEA analysis and a strong understanding of engineering principles and data analysis.
  5. Project management skills to organize tasks, manage timelines, and control budgets.
  6. A balance of technical, commercial, and leadership experience to deliver complex projects on time and on budget.
  7. A proactive mindset with a desire to drive continual improvement and take ownership of engineering activities.
