As a Senior Data Centre Lead at Amber Labs, you will be responsible for overseeing the design and implementation of our high-security datacentres, ensuring they meet the company's specific security, redundancy, and scalability needs.

To succeed in this role, you will need extensive experience in data centre design, construction, and management, ideally with 15+ years in high-security or mission-critical environments. You should also have a proven track record in directing large-scale, secure data centre projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Centre Design and Strategy:
    • Develop long-term strategies for infrastructure and data center expansions, upgrades, and lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with Amber Labs' mission-critical needs.
    • Lead the architectural design and planning of datacentre facilities, incorporating advanced data security, regulatory compliance, and energy-efficient practices.
  • Project Leadership and Delivery:
    • Establish project milestones and deliverables, ensuring that all datacentre projects align with Amber Labs' strategic and technical requirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, and security, to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Risk and Compliance Management:
    • Conduct risk assessments for all phases of datacentre design, ensuring compliance with Amber Labs' stringent security and operational standards.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay updated on datacentre technologies, design methodologies, and industry best practices, incorporating innovation into Amber Labs' datacentre projects.
  • Stakeholder and Vendor Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for all datacentre design-related matters, liaising with internal stakeholders, government bodies, and external vendors.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Extensive experience in datacentre design, construction, and management, ideally with 15+ years in high-security or mission-critical environments.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • In-depth knowledge of datacentre architecture, power and cooling systems, network infrastructure, high-availability designs, and redundancy planning.
  • Leadership Skills:
    • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams, complex projects, and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Compliance and Security:
    • Expert knowledge of regulatory and security requirements for high-security datacentres, including data protection, cybersecurity, and resilience standards.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £120,000 per annum
