Barchester Healthcare is a leading provider of care services in the UK, with over 25 years of experience and a network of 200 care homes and six independent hospitals. We're passionate about delivering high-quality care and support to elderly and vulnerable individuals.
The IT Help Desk team plays a crucial role in supporting colleagues across our multi-site business. We're currently seeking an IT Support Officer to join our team and contribute to our growth and success.
As an IT Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our employees, including assisting with problems over the phone. You'll work as part of the IT Help Desk team to provide first and second-line support, interacting with users from various departments with different levels of knowledge.
You'll be responsible for recording, monitoring, and following up on support calls to ensure problems are resolved swiftly and accurately. Depending on the situation, you may need to outsource issues to third-party services.
You'll also have the opportunity to work on Barchester's PC, server, and network update and implementation projects. This is a predominantly office-based role, with a permanent shift pattern from 8am to 4.30pm or 9am to 5.30pm. Occasional travel may be necessary, including staying away from home for short periods, so a full driving license is required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll be a team player with a confident and friendly phone manner. You'll have previous experience working in a telephone-based support team using remote control technologies. You'll also have outstanding communication skills, enabling you to deliver accessible advice. Ideally, you'll be a self-motivated individual who can work proactively without supervision.
You'll be educated to SQA Higher Level or equivalent, although a numerate degree would be desirable. A comprehensive knowledge of PCs and Microsoft products is required, and an understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts and smartphone email configuration would be beneficial.
Our Rewards Package
If you join us, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact on Barchester's progress. This rewarding role is instrumental to our growth and success. As well as a competitive salary, we offer one of the best rewards packages in the care sector. Your generous benefits would include:
- Contribution pension scheme
- A range of holiday, retail, and leisure discounts
You'll also have plenty of opportunity to grow your career in a large organization with a warm and supportive environment. If you have the qualities required for this exciting role and want to work with an organization that provides the type of care you'd expect for your loved ones, we would welcome your application.
