We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our team at NELFT North East London Foundation Trust. As a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing specialist psychological assessments and treatments to adults with a history of forced migration, living in the borough of Waltham Forest.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist psychological assessments and treatments to adults with complex mental health difficulties, including trauma.
- Work closely with refugee and community organisations to provide training and support on mental health and trauma.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of trauma-focused therapy programs for refugees and asylum seekers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to clients.
- Participate in research and service evaluation to improve mental health outcomes for refugees and asylum seekers.
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 2000) as accredited by the British Psychological Society, or British Psychological Society Statement of Equivalence.
- Professional registration with the appropriate professional body - HCPC.
- Experience of working with refugees, asylum seekers, or other forced migrant groups.
- Experience of delivering evidence-based interventions for complex and severe mental health problems, including trauma.
- Knowledge of the impact of exile on mental health and knowledge of responses to traumatic experience more generally.
