Electrical Technician Position

We are seeking an accomplished Electrical Technician to join our team at Mpac. The successful candidate will be part of our Productions team, working alongside manufacturing teams and the wider Operations team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the electrical build, wiring, and electrical testing of special purpose automation.
  • Work collaboratively with Senior Electrical Technicians, Supervisors, Managers, and project teams to identify and resolve issues.
  • Accurately record time booked and rework/non-value time logged.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and contribute to apprentice development and support.
  • Provide technical expertise during machine site installations and set-up in the UK or abroad.

Key Deliverables:

  • Deliver electrical builds on time, on budget, and to Mpac standards.
  • Work safely and maintain good housekeeping practices.
  • Be a champion for Mpac values and demonstrate respect, integrity, trust, and excellence in all interactions.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to work under own supervision or as part of a multi-technical team.
  • Experience in electrical engineering and automation machinery, with the ability to fault-find.
  • Familiarity with low voltage systems, including analogue and digital IO, and other typical automation systems.
  • Proficiency with schematics and problem-solving, as well as sound IT skills for shop floor computer terminals.
  • Ability to read and understand technical and electrical schematics.
  • ONC/BTEC/City and Guilds in a relevant electrical/mechatronic engineering discipline, or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with installations involving pneumatic/electro-pneumatic equipment.
  • Familiarity with EMC screening, earthing, and bonding for machinery.
  • Basic understanding of PLC programming.
