Smith+Nephew is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Research and Development (R&D) efforts in the area of Advanced Wound Management (AWM). As the Head of RTI Innovation, you will be responsible for driving the early innovation strategy and process in partnership with the Global Marketing and NPD leads.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute technology roadmaps to meet customer and commercial needs.
  • Lead the Global Wound R&D Leadership team in driving the goals, future development, and objectives of the Wound R&D organisation.
  • Partner with HCPs, including Strategic Innovation Council and KOL partnerships, to ensure compliance and technology review.
  • Plan and coordinate resources to execute technology roadmaps, including dynamic response to unexpected occurrences.
  • Participate in the AWM R&D Leadership team to support and drive continuous improvement programs and cross-R&D initiatives.

Requirements

  • Relevant sciences or engineering degree, with a bias towards class I to class III medical devices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Deep knowledge of systems engineering, materials science, wound biology characteristics, and ability to interpret customer needs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in managing multiple priorities, with effective oral and written communication skills.
