About the Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled Contract Surveyor to join our team at Carrington West. This exciting opportunity will see you working closely with the legal team to resolve disrepair cases, preparing specifications and inspecting works to ensure they meet the required standards.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • ,
  • To prepare detailed specifications for works to be carried out, taking into account factors such as budget, timeline, and quality,
  • To conduct thorough inspections of works prior to completion, identifying any defects or areas for improvement,
  • To manage a team of contractors involved in the project, ensuring that works are completed to a high standard and on time,
  • To provide expert advice and guidance to the legal team, helping to resolve complex disputes and negotiate with contractors,
  • To represent the council in court and other legal settings, providing clear and concise testimony and advice,
  • To keep tenants and their representatives informed about progress and address any concerns they may have,

Requirements:

  • ,
  • Qualification to degree level in surveying or a related field,
  • Previous experience of working in a public sector setting, particularly in relation to disrepair cases,
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, as well as damp and structural issues,
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure,
