Disrepair Management Lead

London, Greater London, United Kingdom Adecco UK Limited Full time
About the Role

Adecco UK Limited is partnering with the London Borough of Camden to recruit a Disrepair Manager.

This high-volume, fast-paced environment requires flexibility, adaptability, and swift decision-making. You will lead weekly cross-departmental meetings, prioritizing cases from various council stakeholders.

The Council has approximately 500 legal disrepair cases, often multifaceted and involving home suitability and condition. The disrepair team works closely with legal services, third-party solicitors, neighbourhood services, and in-house repairs teams to resolve cases efficiently.

As Disrepair Manager, you will programme manage work across teams and within the service, ensuring compliance with Court orders and case conclusions without breaches or punitive orders.

This role supports Camden's ambition for decent, safe, warm, and family-friendly homes to benefit the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the disrepair team in the Property Management Division.
  • Deliver the housing disrepair program, proactively monitoring cases for timely completion and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Repairs & Operations to secure sufficient supply chain resources for volume works.
  • Convene and lead cross-service engagement with internal and external lawyers, neighbourhood management, insurance, leasehold services, and housing allocation teams for effective case resolution.
  • Take an active part in discussing consent orders, ensuring the Council follows agreed terms and proactively monitors work completion within deadlines.
  • Ensure approved no-access procedures are followed by the team and contractors.
  • Work with legal services to manage third-party legal support, monitor spend, and payments for costs and compensation.
  • Explore alternative dispute resolution processes and initiatives to reduce legal disrepair cases.
About You

We seek a strong track record in property or housing management, preferably at a managerial level in social housing. Essential qualities include:

  • Proven experience in developing services and performance management.
  • Strong working relationships with multiple teams.
  • Experience in commissioning third-party suppliers and driving performance.
  • Good knowledge of landlord and tenant law.
  • Programme management experience, understanding delivery and quality standards for residents.
